The Elite 1 championship started today
The Grenoble team had inherited a very big piece to start their second consecutive season in Elite 1. It was no less than the reigning French champions, Montpellier, who were in the hot September sun at the Stade Lesdiguières.
After being swept aside in the quarter-finals last season (51-7), the Grenoble team has already made encouraging progress in the early stages of the championship. Sticked to the Montpellier girls throughout the first half (7-7, then 12-12, then 15-12, then 15-12, then 15-19 at the break), the Amazons had to lower their weapons in the second half, facing the experience and power of the Héraultese (20-62)
Next up for the Isèroises, it will be next Sunday (noon) against Rouen at the Stade Lesdiguières.
