"My colleagues made me work."

Grenoble's losehead prop, Jérôme Rey, will make his first start with the FCG at Vannes this season

We haven't seen much of you in the FCG jersey yet. But you'll start tomorrow in Vannes.

"Let's just say the beginning of the season, that's it. We must also be clear. I went up a notch. Moved from Federale 1 to Pro D2, to the top of Pro D2. To be honest, I still had some difficulties in melee, where Grenoble really made me work. There you go. Work pays off. And now all you have to do is enjoy yourself on the field. »

Is the difference in level that important?

"Of course, there's a really big step to take. There you go. But, really, with really nice colleagues, who made me work, always in a good mood, well integrated into the group. There's a tight-knit group. There's only one thing left to do now. »

Is it a big challenge for you?

"Of course, it's a challenge. I'm expected. There's a big scrum waiting for us this weekend. There is everything to prove and reassure yourself. »

How did you react when the FCG took an interest in you last season?

"Let's just say that when Grenoble came to get me, I was a little confident. In Chambéry, having played all the games. 70 minutes per game. We played a series of games. We were in confidence. After that, I was already very happy. And, then, another part (of me) was a little worried. When you change. When there is another level. All this. And, really, whether it's in Pro D2 or Top 14, here in Grenoble, there are really good guys. When you are well integrated, you can lift mountains. »

Bourgoin, Chambéry, Grenoble, aren't you a traveler?

"Let's say it was a personal choice. Why wear another jersey, in the centre of France or elsewhere. There are clubs in the area. We're alpine. We want to wear these colors. »
