A skype call with Etienne Fourcade

  • Etienne Fourcade

While the lockdown lasts, we'll be checking in on your players. We start with the FCG hooker, Etienne Fourcade

- Hi Etienne, how are you? Where are you right now?

- I left Grenoble. I went to my parents' place in the country. It's easier to be confined to the countryside than in Grenoble.

- Can you manage to do a bit of sport? Did you have a program to follow?

- Yes, we had a program to follow, from exos to body weight. And cardio. I try to stick to it. It's true it's hard to work out on your own, but, you know... You just have to deal with it.

- Do you do stair climbing behind you?

- No, I think I'd break them! In the Jura, there are 2 or 3 nice little ribs to run on. I train there.

- You're still a student. This is also a chance to go back to school for a bit, to work on that too?

- Yes, that's a bit like that. With Bastien Guillemin and Antonin Berruyer, we're in the same class, we've got a lot of files to hand in. In fact, one FCG file. Basically, we're trying to optimise our time a little bit and take advantage of this confinement to complete all the files we have to do. And the future projects we have to carry out.

- How are the days going? Do you manage to get an executive or do you give yourself a little more freedom?

- No, I'm trying to get a framework. I usually get up between 8:00 and 8:30. I have breakfast. Afterwards, I usually like to work out in the morning. I work out. Right now, I just got back from sport. And then I have lunch around noon, 1:00. And then I work 3, 4 hours in the afternoon. And then it's free time. I do a little bit of whatever I want. I play a little computer, watch a few shows, and then that's it.

- What are the shows you're watching right now?

- I'm watching the show on Canal+, 000. Calabrian mafia, I think. Which is pretty good. Otherwise, I just finished Gomorra, about the Neapolitan mafia. I'm very mafia. And if not, I watch a lot of movies. Films I like.

- Is the club doctor taking some of your news, to see where you're at too?

- Yeah, the doc called me four days ago. I was coughing a lot, I had a cold, actually, when I went on vacation. He got a little worried about me, but, in the end, I didn't have much of a problem, so I was fine.

- You don't have anyone close to you who's a nurse, a doctor... ?

- Yeah, my mom works at Dole Hospital, so she's a little on the lookout.

- Well, that's nice. You make her feel better by being a good son?

- Yeah, I hope so. I mean, it's complicated when she gets home. She's trying to get away from work a little bit. We get caught up in the thing pretty quickly.

- You were talking about Bastien and Antonin. You manage to keep the link between you, with everyone else?

- You send each other messages with the others a little. You chat. Bastien and Antonin, yes, because on top of that, we have classes. So we send messages to each other quite often. And then we keep in touch with everyone.

- What do you plan for the end of the lockdown?

- The end of lockdown? What do I do as soon as lockdown ends?

- Do you cut your hair or go to a restaurant?

- I'm cutting my hair later, which is why I skype before I get a haircut. What I'm going to do... Honestly, I think I'm gonna go out to a bar. Have a little beer. In moderation.

- Thanks, Etienne, for checking in, and I'll talk to you soon.
