The FCG kicks off its Elite season on Sunday at Stade Lesdiguières, with the reception of Caen. After a promotion and a title obtained last June, the Amazons will seek to meet the high standards of this new championship, where they will face the best in France.
"After the promotion, the staff and I quickly moved on to something else to prepare for this season. We had 5 important departures to fill. We have a lot of talented but young players in our squad. The oldest, who are only 23, 24 years old, must take their responsibilities" explains Emmanuel Pellorce, the manager of this team.
The promotion in Elite has not changed the girls' daily lives, but their coach feels "a stronger concentration" during each training session since the beginning of the season: "We are starting out in the unknown: most of the players are new at this level. We have to move the cursor up. The girls needed new challenges. "
The Amazons' objective this season: "We're already going to fight with the teams that have come up with us. And try to meet the challenges that the 4 Top 8 teams will offer us. And, why not make the most of it. "
